We’re gonna run outta time, December’ll come fast! If GameMaker is used this year I’d love to contribute code-wise (cries in “didn’t learn the ropes of HaxeFlixel in time last year”)

Annnnnyhow, this is just gonna be a miscellaneous kind of blog post from me!

I Wanna Maker

I Wanna Maker just came out of Early Access recently on Steam and I adore it, it’s basically Mario Maker but for I Wanna Be The Guy! It’s got some cool online features like playing levels alongside other people if more than one person is playing a level, along with a lil’ chat function. There’s something almost zen about playing these kinda levels with others especially with the music selection you have at your disposal for levels. I made a level too!

I highly recommend you give it a look if it’s your thing, it’s free:

Randy 2 (Randy Learns History)

I realize it’s a project with an hour of planned gameplay being worked on in people’s free time, but I still get the nagging feeling I’m not working fast enough on it. Might be partly due to the first game being about two years old already, and due to this type of game (point n’ click adventure) not being very devlog-able unless you don’t care about spoiling a lot before people can experience it themselves. It’s quick dopamine to do that, and then you risk burnout since you already got that dopamine hit you would’ve gotten from releasing the game! I set a restriction on myself to only share some stuff from one section of the game (the medieval time period), and I’ve had to stop myself from breaking that restriction!

Everything I hear from friends and contributors tells me it’s coming along really well though. I’d call it about 30-40% done as of right now? I’m very excited to see the reception it gets! It’s definitely one of my best works yet, though I still worry about little things like the flow and writing and stuff. Can’t let it paralyze me!

The Drawing Grounds

The Drawing Grounds runs in Ruffle now if you haven’t seen yet! Some of the touch controls are a bit precise but you can even play on mobile. I love the way this game utilized the NG API to make a social game. I’m just waiting for User Creations to come to NGio so that I don’t have to do my ideas for them in Flash (like the one I started and wrote about at the start of this year but blehhh I’m still kinda amateur-ish in Flash)

You should go play it with your NG friends if you haven’t yet! It’s basically that app Draw Something but on Newgrounds.

In Closing

I didn’t really do much this year on Newgrounds, I have no idea how extravagant I’m gonna make my end of year recap blog post. Maybe I’ll just primarily include things that happened on NG this year that I liked!

I have done nothing this year.

Why don't you run Tankmas? I know you'd do an awesome job! :D

Usually it's BrandyBuizel. You could message him to see if he's working on it this year.

We’ve been in communication!

Do You Like Ruffle?

Can be safe to assume I do...
